Treasure Planet
This kid-friendly disc serves as an advance for the DVD release of Disney's Treasure Planet feature, while emphasizing the story's roots in the written word. The main attraction is the movie's story, which can be read aloud in five different languages while viewers watch successive, still images from the original animated film. Sound strange? Sure, but the process is engrossing for children--a natural audience for storytelling. Also on board is a multilingual vocabulary experience, in which you can hear words associated with Treasure Planet's story (e.g., "chest") in Spanish, Italian, French, etc. Two songs from the film, written and performed by Goo Goo Dolls icon John Rzeznik, also get the image-by-image treatment, though the disc also includes a powerful, ghostly celestial music video for Rzeznik's "I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme)." Wonderful film, should do theatrical re-release in 3D
I am probably one of the few who did see "Treasure Planet" in the theater. I found it thoroughly enjoyable. I think part of the problem with the poor showing at theaters, was that the movie, overall, was geared more towards teen males and adults...

Certainly an underrated Disney movie
This, along with "Atlantis: The Lost Empire", is surely being overshadowed by other more popular ones such as "Monsters Inc." and "Lilo & Stitch" and "The Incredibles" and so on. "Treasure Planet" really is something worth watching.

Brilliant adaptation
Disney brilliantly adapts Robert Lewis Stevenson's classic novel, Treasure Island, into Treasure Planet. Treasure Planet is futuristic and 1660's at the same time. It's a wonderful blend of action and comedy, and one a my personal favorites.

A great movie for any time, and for anyone.
A truly wonderful tale combined with stunning animation. The movie has a lot of heart, as you would expect from the directors of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. I don't think Treasure Planet will disappoint the imaginative audience.
